Body Stress Release

body-logoWhat is Health?

Health is the body’s ability to constructively deal with all the stresses that it is subjected to on a daily basis. In this way, the body is constantly repairing itself and maintaining its optimum level of functioning.

The body will always strive towards 100% health and is self-healing, however, this is only possible if the communication system in the body operates effectively. The nervous system is the communication highway of the body.

Body Stress

If the stress levels go beyond the body’s adaptive capacity, the protective reflex response of the body will cause the muscles to spasm and splint the affected area. When the body naturally responds to the stress-overload in this way, the stress becomes locked into the body. This is referred to as “body stress”. Body stress puts pressure on the nerves which disturbs the body’s communication system.

Body Stress Release is a non-therapeutic, complementary health technique that offers a gentle and effective way to help the body to release stored tension from the muscles.

The aim of Body Stress Release (BSR) is to release locked in stress from the muscles, to restore communication in the nervous system. This improves the self-healing capacity of the body and the maintenance of health.

photo-2A minimum of 3 sessions are required for a new client over a period of 2 weeks. It is important that all sessions are attended as Body Stress Release works as a process. The first session is about 45 minutes during which a detailed medical history is taken. All subsequent sessions are about 30 minutes.

In a BSR session, the client will lie down fully clothed and the practitioner will check for stored tension in the muscles. The practitioner will apply a precise and definite pressure in the affected areas which will encourage the body to ‘release’ the stored tension.
